Part of perfecting our beauty routine is having all the right products and tools. From the perfect blending brush to the right foundation sponge. After getting the knack for applying everything just right and knowing which tools to use, the next component is caring for our tools.
Taking care of your brushes is essential and a process you should regularly be doing. Every time you use your makeup brushes and sponges dirt, makeup, bacteria, oils, etc. get left behind. Using dirty makeup brushes can not only affect how they apply a product, but it can also lead to breakouts. How often you wash your tools is a personal decision, anything I use for foundation gets cleaned after each use, but eye makeup and blush brushes I clean once a week.

My evening beauty process has a lot of steps, but most days I actually look forward to the routine. Once I’m in for the night, I can’t wait to shower, put on comfortable pajamas, tie the hair up and relax before bed. I follow a pretty elaborate skincare and body care routine. Grey hairs are creeping in here and there, and I’m trying my best to be proactive with wrinkle and anti-aging treatments.

I remember a few years ago when I was turning 30 I had so much anxiety about it. In hindsight, I’m not sure what the big deal was all about. I’m a lot closer to forty than I am to thirty. I have a few gray hairs, laugh lines, and I need a nap before going out, but my outlook on aging has completely changed. I always like to think about how much I have changed and advice I would give to my younger self. I find the older I get the simpler I like my life to be. With all the products I get to test, blogs I read, YouTube video’s I watch and magazines I browse I have picked up enough beauty lessons to write a book. Even with all the tips and tricks, I have come across I have three main points I now live by, and they would be at the top of the list of any advice I give.
