So here we are in the month of May. By now you have probably noticed that I failed at posting much in April and showcasing green beauty brands for Earth Month. Before we get into today’s post about UMA Oils, I wanted to briefly share a little bit about what has been up with me.

April was a stressful month for me. It has been many years since I lost someone close to me, and while I know death is always a shock this time, it hit me harder than I expected. March 29, 2017, my family lost my grandfather. The following week I traveled to Florida for the services and to spend time with my family. Just before I left things in my life were already super hectic, then this loss and when I returned we got some more bad health news regarding another family member. My grandfather was a two-time cancer survivor, and the bad health news with the other family member is breast cancer.

Dealing with grief is hard. Unfortunately, I’m sure many of you can relate. During the time I was away, I did a lot of deep soul searching, meditation, praying and planning. Researching better for you brands as it pertains to health, beauty and overall wellness has been something I was already doing, but it feels more important now than ever.

Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster

Dermalogica/ Skin Care/ Skin Oils
Press Sample

My love affair with Dermalogica began about 14 years ago after I had a facial at a very nice spa. The Esthetician I had did a face mapping skin analysis and recommended a few products from the Dermalogica line. Slowly over the years I have rotated different products from Dermalogica into my skin care routine. I have yet to try something I didn’t love.  Being that I am already a big fan of facial oils when the opportunity to try out the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster was presented I jumped on it.
Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster

One word can sum up my feelings on this product, Amazing. My skin is combination oil, but I do tend to get very dry around my mouth. The Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster is lightweight, non-greasy, and penetrates quickly.
Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster
My skin drinks this stuff up. I have had no issues using it every day, when I am particularly dry I will massage a few drops into my skin and then follow with my moisturizer. When my skin is behaving well I just add 1-2 drops in with my moisturizer.

One area of my face that has been driving me a little crazy are the smile lines around my mouth, sometimes my makeup would crease in this spot. Since I started using the Skin Hydrating booster the skin in the area is more hydrated and the lines slightly minimized. Free of artificial fragrance, colors, drying S.D. alcohol and mineral oil the Skin Hydrating Booster is perfect for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Hello beauties, if you have been reading this blog for a while you already know I have a deep love for beauty oils. Beauty Oils can serve as a fast way to deliver nutrients to the skin.  I was provided with a sample of the Huile Radicale 005 Rejuvenating Oil by Olìe Biologique to test out.
Huile Radicale 005 Rejuvenating Oil Review
The Huile Radicale 005 Rejuvenating Oil
The Huile Radicale 005 Rejuvenating Oil is lightweight and absorbed quickly. My skin was left soft and silky with a non greasy glow. After a few uses I noticed less congestion in my skin particularly around my nose and cheeks. This oil will not clog pores. If you haven’t experimented with using facial skin oils, you are missing out.

Ways to use
  • In place of moisturizer (my preferred way to use skin oils in the warmer months) add a few drops to your fingers and press into damp face;
  • As a moisturizer boost, add a few drops in your hands and mix with your normal moisturizer;
  • For glowing skin, add 1-2 small drops to your foundation;
  • For hands, rub a few drops into dry cuticles;
  • For hair, apply a few drops into palms and rub over dry ends or to tame flyaways
  • For skin, massage into damp skin, stretch marks or scars.

Camellia Oil: Natural collagen plumps and fills fine lines & wrinkles, Vitamins A, B & E + Antioxidants help repair skin.
Rosehip Oil: Omega 3 & 6 repair skin and aid in cell regeneration, helps fade scars & hyperpigmentaion, promotes collagen & elastin levels (firmer, smoother skin with increased elasticity).
Blackcurrant Seed Oil: Assists with moisture retention, promotes healthy circulation, reduces inflammation and calms irritation.
Evening Primrose Oil: Rejevenates, good for skin conditions such as rosacea and eczema.
Rose Bulgar Oil: Balances dry skin and heals broken capillaries.
Rose Geranium Oil:  Anti-inflammatory, promotes healing, astringent properties help clear dull oily skin.

Overall I was very please with this oil. I have combination oily skin and this was fine for me, (I have dry spots in the winter) but as we head into the warmer months I think I would purchase the Huile Moderne 004 Hydrating Oil which is suited for normal to combination skin.

The Huile Radicale 005 Rejuvenating Oil is available in two sizes; the 5ml option (pictured above) retails for $15 the larger 30ml option retails for $68.

DISCOUNT CODE: Ready to try the Huile Radicale 005 Rejuvenating Oil? Now through August 31, 2014 you can receive 20% off the purchase of the full size bottle using code OlieBB05.

Have you ever used a skin oil?  I would love to hear what your experience was.
