Nutrisystem My Way Plan #NSNation: Week 7 Update

Food/ Nutrisystem/ Weight Loss

Hello Beauties. Whelp I knew this day would eventually come. Just did a weigh in and whomp whomp I didn’t have a lose this week. But on the bright side I didn’t gain either, I stayed the same. I have to admit the past few weeks have been a struggle. I am still on the Nutrisystem plan but I had a few mishaps. The first began a few weeks ago I was gearing up to start month 2. There were  a few storms across the country and that combined with a mistake from fed-ex delayed my food delivery by a week. When my food finally arrived the frozen portion was completely defrosted and had to be discarded. The customer service at nutrisystem was amazing with dealing with this and had a new order processed for me. During this for about a week and a half I was not on the plan 100%.

My package arrived and I jumped right back into the swing of things. Still struggling a bit with my water intake, getting more in but still not as much as I should be drinking. Here is a look at some of the breakfasts I have been having.

At first glance the muffins are very small, but remember you can add a powerful. I make a dozen hard boiled eggs on Sunday and keep them in the fridge to save time. Morning without coffee is rough at times, but I need something hot to drink in the morning so hot water and lemon is my substitute. (FYI: Black coffee is allowed, but without the sugar and creamer I just can’t so I skip it)

I love oatmeal so I eat this a few times a week. I prefer to make the old fashion oats the long way on the stove but the Nutrisystem instant ones are not bad, I added a banana which is a smart carb, that really should be with my morning snack.

Another favorite from the frozen selection are the omelets. Normally I would add a meat power fuel to this but I ran out of the house this particular morning and forgot it. (It would have been a small vegetarian sausage patty).

Vegetables are a huge part of the program and I like to spice mine up about, here is picture of my latest go to, these are rosemary carrots. I’ll probably do a full post on these for an upcoming foodie Friday.

The other thing I want to mention that I am struggling with a bit is the desserts. With the plan I am on I get a dessert every night. SCORE, problem is most nights I don’t eat them. I cannot even believe it because I am a sweets junkie but for some reason since I have been on the plan I don’t have much of a craving for sweets anymore, and the plan is not depriving in terms of the amount of food. At the end of the day I am just not hungry anymore and usually forget to eat the dessert. I know it’s important to eat all the food I am allotted so I am going to make more of an effort this week to get those desserts in. I never imagined I would be on a “diet” plan and skip the desserts, go figure.

Nutrisystem My Way Plan #NSNation Week 4 Update

Nutrisystem/ recipes

I cannot believe how fast the past month went by. It has been four weeks since I started this journey to better health and I am so happy with my progress. I definitely had some slip ups along the way, the past two weeks being difficult at time to stay on track but I never completely abandoned the program. Whenever I didn’t stick to my meal plan 100% I still remained very conscious of what I was consuming.

I wanted to try and switch things up a bit when it came to breakfast. I can’t eat the same things over and over without getting bored. To add a twist this past week I made some breakfast omelet egg muffins. This were super easy and fairly quick to make. I made a batch and just grabbed one in the morning and popped in the microwave for 30 seconds to reheat.

I am one of those cooks who doesn’t always measure so I just kind of winged this. Non-starchy veggies are a “freebie” within reason on the nutrisystem plan so I definitely take advantage of that to keep me full. Here is what I used to make these:

1/2 doz brown eggs
1/2 red onion finely chopped
Green Onion finely chopped
Stoplight Bell Peepers finely chopped
3 Veggie sausage links cooked and roughly chopped
Approx 1/4 cup shredded cheese

In one bowl beat eggs with a few dashes of salt and pepper, in a separate bowl combine all other ingredients.  Spray cupcake pan with cooking spray and fill bottom with your veggie filling mix, pour beaten eggs over veggies. The muffins will fluff up as the cook so leave a little room at the top. Bake for approx. 20 minutes at 350°.

Paired with some fruit and orange juice this was a great, easy breakfast.

Reflecting pack on the past four weeks I am extremely happy with the program and proud that as of today’s weigh in I am officially down 10 lbs! The support I have received has really helped me on this journey, excited to head into month two.

Nutrisystem My Way Plan #NSNation Week 2 Update

Hello beauties, today has been absolutely crazy. We got some unexpected snow here in the south that completely shut the city down. It took me over 5 hours to get home and I only work about 15 minutes away from where I live, so yeah. It was so bad that some of the children actually had to spend that night in school. Despite the long drive I was happy to make it home safely after all the accidents I saw.

Nutrisystem My Way Plan Women

So let’s get into my week 2 update, which was all about planning. I did good on the program this past week. Sunday is a kick back day for me, I prepare and plan for the week, do beauty treatments, catch up on blogging etc.  I found out this week that planning is key. I stayed 100% on track during the work week, being on a set schedule helps. The weekends are fairing to be a little bit more challenging and harder to plan in advance. I tried to make good choices over the weekend since I didn’t eat Nutrisystem  meals.

Because I am planning out the weekly meals in advance I am discovering new combinations and coming up with new recipes to keep things interesting. I have yet to feel deprived on the program. I am not going to call it a diet because it doesn’t feel like one. Can you believe that I was actually not eating enough food, never thought I would say that while on a “diet”. I get a dessert each day and I wasn’t eating them. Even without the Nutrisystem meals I still stick with some of the program basics on “off” or weekend days. A proper ratio of power fuel foods, protein, smart carbs, vegetables, watching the beverage calories and consuming more water. Starting next week I will show more of the food and some recipes.

I switched things up a bit this week, sweet potatoes were my smart carb of choice. I bake them and add a sprinkle of cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of agave nectar, so delicious.

My snack of choice was almonds. I picked up these seasoned Almond packets at Target, great for on the go.  They came in handy while I was stuck on the road for hours. At 100 calories a pack they fit right into my snack portion. To spruce up my water a bit I went back to drinking fruit infused water and toyed around with some new combinations. My two favorites have been strawberry/rosemary and lemon/cucumber/mint, so refreshing.

I mentioned last week that I look forward to my afternoon craving crusher shake. I am off that particular shake now that the fast five week is over and now on a regular protein shake. I was using unsweetened vanilla almond milk to give it some extra flavor. This new coconut almond milk is a total game changer, absolutely delicious and perfect for my afternoon treat. I have also been using this in oatmeal and cereal.

I’m not hungry and my energy is up, no more 3 p.m. crash. Weight loss is steady I am down an additional 2 pounds this week for a total to date loss of 9 lbs.   I am very happy with that!
