A healthier alternative to soda with Caffeinated Club

Caffeinated Club/ drinks/ Lifestyle

Earlier this year I made a commitment to cut back on not only soda, but any juices with high sugar content. I have to say although I haven’t been perfect at it, I have been good. I very rarely drink soda now and don’t buy any for the house unless we are having guests. I have increased my water intake dramatically, but sometimes plain water gets boring. I have experimented with water flavor drop liquids, which have been good but sometimes I still want a little carbonation and sometimes I need caffeine. I cut back on coffee this year also and let me tell you, giving that up was more of a struggle than the soda was.

I had the opportunity to try out some flavored club sodas from CaffeinatedClub and they are nicely filling the void of soda and sugary juices. I have never been really into energy drinks but if I need a little caffeine boost to get me through that 3pm slump at work; I can now reach for a caffeinated club beverage instead without the guilt.  The 12 fl. oz. bottles is small enough to always keep a bottle in my bag.
When I started getting better at drinking water I would often make some flavored ice cubes to give my water a little extra kick.  I have been throwing a few of these flavored ice cubes into my caffeinated club drinks. Today I am using strawberry and mint ice cubes in the lemon flavored club soda. It’s the perfect balance of carbonation and flavor; I don’t miss soda at all. This delicious combination is definitely a healthier alternative to sugary drinks since they don’t contain sugar, colors, artificial sweeteners, or calories.
 Caffeinated Club-Club Soda
Caffeinated Club club sodas use triple filtered water for a clean crisp taste and have about the same caffeine as a serving of Coca Cola.

Available flavors;
Caffeinated Club® Clear Club Soda
Caffeinated Club® Lemon Club Soda
Caffeinated Club® Orange Grapefruit Club Soda
Caffeinated Club® Raspberry Club Soda

The club sodas make great cocktail mixers as well.  I think we are hosting this week’s football watch party and I’ll be using some of the Caffeinated Club club sodas in cocktails.

Copy Cat Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade

drinks/ recipes

Today’s post is not beauty related but I had posted this picture on Instagram and a lot of you asked for the recipe so I figured I would post it here. It’s no secret I am addicted to a few drinks at Starbucks and the Sweetened Passion Tea Lemonade is one of  them.  Sometimes I like to have it by the pitcher to serve to guests so I headed to my kitchen to figure out a copy cat recipe for those times or when I just don’t feel like driving over to Starbucks for one. So here is my version. Enjoy.

copy cat starbucks passion tea lemonade

 Recipe for one glass:

1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar (I use sugar in the raw, but any sugar is fine)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

8 oz brewed Tazo (or other brand) passion tea, chilled
2 oz lemonade (homemade or store-bought)

In a small saucepan, bring the water and the sugar to a low boil over medium-high, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Once the sugar dissolves, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat, stir in the vanilla, and let the simple syrup cool. Transfer to a mason jar or other airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
To make the tea lemonade, combine tea, lemonade, and 1 1/2 tbsp simple syrup in a mason jar with a lid or another sealable container. Shake the mixture to combine (or stir vigorously in a glass) and pour over ice. Serve cold.
