28 days ago I sat in front of the mirror and spent some time just looking at my face. I started paying more attention to my skincare in my mid 20’s, and by 30 it was serious business. While sitting at the vanity having this mirror moment I took notice of how much my face has changed. Post acne hyperpigmentation is an issue for me, but aside from that, I notice my skin is not at evenly toned and bright as it once was. Fine lines are starting to creep in around the eyes and a tiny bit on the forehead, and laugh lines are more pronounced. The key change that struck me was my eyes were starting to look tired. I remember back in my twenties I could stay out late and go to the work the next day and you would never know I only slept for an hour or two. These days, besides walking around like a zombie and guzzling coffee, my eyes give away when I don’t get good sleep. My mirror moment revelation was that an eye cream was no longer optional.
For the next 28 days, I followed a simple skincare routine using a few Olay products. I’d already been a longtime fan of the bestselling Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream. My skin can be needy and temperamental. I have normal skin, but it can get out of whack and fall into the combination/oily category. I need a moisturizer that can adjust to keeping me hydrated but won’t clog my pores and feel greasy. The Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream fits the bill. I can use the Olay both am and pm; it doesn’t feel heavy on my skin and bonus it makes an excellent base for days I wear makeup.
After a few nights of consistent use, I started to notice changes in my skin. I used to often wake up with dry skin, but during the challenge, I would look in the mirror before my shower and see my skin was still nicely hydrated. The overall tone of my skin was improving, and my laugh lines were not as deep. When I put makeup on, I could see that it wasn’t settling and caking into those depression lines as much anymore. I like to laugh and smile a lot, so I know that they probably won’t ever be completely gone, but it’s nice to see them not as deep.
I’ve been using an eye cream since around age 25, but most days I was only using it the evening and not always consistently. I made it a point during this challenge to use the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream both in the morning and evening every single day.
The Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream blew me away. The creamy formula of the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream sinks into the skin and leaves it hydrated. The tinted color instantly helped my under eye appear brighter. After about two weeks of using the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream, I could skip concealer most days.
It started with 28 days, but I’m so pleased with the results that I’ll be keeping both the Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream and the Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream in my rotation. I can’t tell you how much money I wasted over the years on expensive products that may not have been right for my skin. It was nice to incorporate two budget-friendly products that performed just as well if not better than other expensive products I’ve tried. Using the same products in both the morning and evening made this regimen with Olay easy to follow.
