The Best Cleansing Cloths For Your Face

Beauty/ Skin Care

Maintaining healthy radiant skin is a process for me. The older I get, the more the phrase “You are what you eat” rings in my ears. Following a healthy lifestyle with proper eating, and drinking lots of water is essential for my skin. Keeping up with a skin care routine is the other part of the process that is vital.

I have temperamental skin, and sleeping in makeup or not washing my face in the evening is the quickest way to spur a breakout for me. As much as I love skincare and experimenting with products, there are times that I’m tired and like to keep it simple with a face washing that is quick and effective.

In my fantasy world, I would have time each night to lock myself in a bathroom suite oasis and take my time with a long drawn out pamper session. In my reality, some nights I fall asleep on the couch and have to drag myself to bed. The nights like those I’m grateful for a simple face washing routine that isn’t complicated.

My beauty stash has a little bit of everything for cleansing: micellar water, oils, balms, liquid cleansers and makeup wipes. For the past week, I traded a multiple step routine that consisted of various products for the Olay Daily Facials Daily Clean 4-in-1 Water Activated Cleansing Cloths.

To be honest, I was a little nervous about this. I’m embracing a “less is more” outlook in my lifestyle, and beauty routine. My focus has been on improving my skin so I can feel comfortable not wearing makeup every day. Clear, healthy radiant skin is goals.

I put the Olay Daily Facials to the test to see how they stood up against a regular makeup remover wipe.

I’m very picky when it comes to cloths and makeup wipes. Have you ever used one that was rough and dry? They are the worst. The Olay Daily Facials are textured to provide exfoliation and somehow Olay managed to keep them super soft. No one wants to feel like they are rubbing their face with sandpaper.

When you first take a cloth out of the container it is dry; the soap-free cleanser is water activated. As you run the cloth under the water and in your hands, it builds a nice lather.

The real test for me was near the eye, I layer several mascaras and usually getting them all off is a pain. I knew we had a winner when the cloth removed my waterproof mascara without leaving behind raccoon eyes.

I was quickly able to remove all my makeup with one cloth, and my face was not left feeling dry or oily. The cloths are infused with Olay conditioners to leave your skin hydrated.

Take a look at the results of a little experiment. On the left is a sheet showing anything left on my face after cleansing with a standard pre-wet makeup remover wipe. On the right is a sheet showing anything left on my face after using the Olay Daily Facials.

A few traces of mascara and lipstick were left after using the standard pre-wet makeup remover wipe. Besides the makeup residue, look at all the oil.

When I used the standard makeup remover wipe, I still had a little makeup and mascara residue left on my face. Look at the sheet on the right, which I blotted on my face after using the Olay Daily Facials. I was shocked to see not a trace of makeup or oil, can we say they work?!

The Olay Daily Facials Daily Clean 4-in-1 Water Activated Cleansing Cloths are a space saver in this compact cube but also a time saver, replacing four products, and four steps. A saving grace on nights when I’m feeling too lazy for a long routine. The Olay Daily Facials tackled cleansing, exfoliating, toning, and masking in one step. Not only do these cloths get the job done, but they are budget friendly.

I had no idea how these work. I like the fact that they won’t dry out like regular wipes. You’ve convinced me to buy a box for travel or for nights when I want a one step cleanse!

I haven’t tried these yet but they sound like the solution for wanting something fast at night that really does the job fully!

They sound good for travel too because you wet them as you need them.

  • I like these for those nights when I too tired to go thru my whole skincare routine.

whoa, the oil matting wipes definitely show how well these work!! I like that they won’t dry out in the box. I can’t even begin to tell you how many packs of wipes I’ve bought that have been dried out.

  • I’ve never tried wipes like these! They sound so much gentler, and a lot more convenient than regular wipes.

  • It does look and sound quite intriguing. I love that you had no makeup left behind after use but the lack of oil as well does concern me. I have VERY dry skin and our face needs natural oils, that’s why using soap is bad for our skin because it strips us of those oils. By the look of the blotting paper, that’s what these cleansing clothes did. If i had oily skin I’d probably love it but because I have dry skin I need all the oil I have!

  • I actually bought these once for traveling, they are so easy to bring in a carry on!

I really love cloths like this that are more than JUST rubbing cleanser onto your skin. As I’m aging, I’m finding that Olay works better to moisturize and cleanse my skin
