If you didn’t know already I am a skin care fanatic. Don’t get me wrong I love makeup and nail polish but skin care might excite me more than anything. My skin can be temperamental at times, but that has never stopped me from experimenting with new skin care. My determination to rock on #teamnowrinklesfor as long as possible might also have something to do with this obsession.
The other day I was chatting with someone I often see in the halls at work, and they were trying to guess my age. No lie, they guessed 10 years younger than I actually am. After I picked my jaw up off the floor I was so happy I could have done cartwheels……or at least tried to, these old bones aren’t flipping anywhere without a tub of ben gay on deck.
Part of me was convinced they were just being kind but hey whatever. I’m taking that compliment and running with it. I really do my best to take care of my skin. This year I have curbed my spending quite a bit when it comes to makeup. I’m passing on more and more new releases and investing more in skincare. I have a pretty solid regimen mapped out and now I just rotate in new products when something catches my eye. I have tested a lot of beauty products; and just like with makeup you can most definitely have a collection that is a mix of both high, low and moderately priced items. I’m okay with forgoing with some other budget suckers to be able to occasionally splurge on some luxury beauty items. I work hard, I deserve it. I subscribe to the notion that makeup looks better on clear, healthy skin. Skincare is worth the investment. Over the past few weeks I have been using the VenoDefense™ Treatment Crème from Innarah and at the displeasure of my budget, I’m hooked. The impressive lineup of ingredients which includes sea buckthorn oil, kuku nut oil, snow algae extract and VenoDefenseTM a mix of anti-inflammatory ingredients that mirror the effects of snake venom had me intrigued. So much antioxidant and anti-inflammatory goodness, exactly what my often temperamental skin needs. The Innarah VenoDefense Treatment Crème is rich and hydrating cream moisturizer that protects the skin from environmental stress and UV damage. With consistent use, I have found my skin appears smoother, less dull and my smile lines are not as deep. The VenoDefense Treatment Crème does not leave the skin oily but I personally choose to use this only in the evening for now. Perhaps when the weather is cooler and my skin drier I will add it to my a.m. routine as well.
This moisturizer is a budget buster for me but I love the way my skin looks and feels so it makes it to my Holy Grail list. The good news, a tiny bit really does go a long way and I will be sure trying to stretch this jar out for as long as possible. If I can make this jar last at least 6 months I’ll feel better about the price. So far using the VenoDefense for about a month the jar barely has a dent in the stop so making it last should be possible. The bad news, the cost could easily be a car payment……ouch. I love the moisturizer so much that I want to try more products from the brand, next up on my radar is their oxgenating mask.
