A bit of smoke, a bit of shimmer, some drama lashes and a New Years Eve Glam look is in the making. This year came and went in the blink of an eye and now we are gearing up to wave goodbye to 2015 and bring in the New Year.
Whether you’re headed out to a swanky party or ringing in the New Year at home it’s always a great occasion to get a little glammed up. This simple makeup looks is quick and easy and perfect for a night out or in.
If you haven’t gotten your hands on the Urban Decay Smoky Palette yet now you have an excuse. This palette, packed with twelve shades is very versatile and might actually be my favorite from the Naked Palette Series. You can go from a very neutral smoky eye to the dramatic smoldering eye all with this one palette, a great addition to any makeup lover’s collection. For this look I used four shades from this palette; starting with combust I applied that all over the lid with a large fluffy brush then with a crease brush I swept on the chocolate-brown Whiskey as a transition shade. To deepen the crease and add a bit of drama I added the color Black Market, which I also applied under the eye; to finish the look I patted the color high on the lid. High is a gorgeous pink shimmer that adds just the right amount sparkle without being overly glitter for us conservative ladies.
Highlighting was the THING this year so adding a little glow was in order. The Limited Edition Oh’ Darling by Mac Cosmetics has been my highlight of choice recently, and I’m so glad I was able to get my hands on one……okay I bought two, don’t judge. The gold tone of this highlighter works well on pretty much every skin tone. If you weren’t able to grab Oh’ Darling I shed a tear for you, but don’t worry Laura Geller’s Gilded Honey is a great alternative.
Liner, Lips and Lashes pull the glamour together. If you are still getting the hang of winged liner the NYC High Definition Liquid Liner is great liner pen for beginners; if you want a super thin line or a bold retro wing this felt tip liner makes lining easy.
We can’t have glamour without lashes honey. There is something about putting on lashes that instantly upgrades a look, the Salon Perfect Perfectly Glamorous lashes are lightweight, easy to apply and will stay put all night.
To keep this glam look fit for daytime I paired it with a subtle lip. Every woman needs at least one Nars lipstick in her beauty arsenal. My lip of choice for this look is Femme Fleur from the Nars Hardwired line. Nars lipsticks are Everything, and Femme Fleur is a nice rose toned color that provides moisturizer and is long-lasting, perfect for that New Year’s Kiss. For added sheen I topped of the lip with my favorite nude gloss Barely Coco by Naked Princess.
Simple makeup look complete and ready to live the Glamorous Life this New Year’s Eve.
