There is something so comforting about the change in seasons this time of year. As we wind down to the last few months of the year life just seems more calm. Now that the temperatures are cooling off I have been slowly swapping out some products and moving more into the Fall vibe. My entire beauty routine gets a shakeup; I tend to wear a little more makeup and my dry skin has different needs.
I have suffered with dry itchy skin for as long as I can remember; the long scalding hot showers I take every day are probably not helping much. I’m also a sucker for great smelling body washes. Harsh soap formulas and heavy fragrances formulas can sometimes irritate my sensitive skin.
I have gotten better with turning down the water temperatures when bathing. The bathroom isn’t sauna esk steamy when I’m finished anymore, but long hot showers are not something I foresee completely giving up. The gentle soap-free formula of the Curel Itch Defense Body Wash creates a nice rich formula that effectively cleanses my skin and helps stop the itch before it begins. The formula is silky and the hydrating olive and jojoba oils are conditioning. When I step out of the shower my skin doesn’t feel tight, itchy or irritated.
Taking care of my skin is important to me year round and that goes beyond just my face and neck. Spending time massaging in a good lotion is the second step to keeping my skin healthy. I love the soothing, cool feel of the Curel Itch Defense Instant Soothing Moisturizing Spray that provides targeted relief for dry itchy skin. The spray is lightweight but effectively moisturizes. When I am a little more pressed for time I tend to reach for the lotion sprays. Anytime your skin feels itchy from dryness this cool and calming spray lotion provides relief.
When time permits I try to relax and spend some time massaging my lotion in to get the blood flowing while I hydrate. The Curel Itch Defense Lotion works to rebalance ph and moisture levels and promotes cellular turnover. This formula feels thick and absorbs nicely into the skin keeping my skin comfortably soft and hydrated all day. Now that my skin is hydrated and soft I can wrap up in a big fluffy white terry cloth robe before leisurely continuing on with my routine.
I have been on my game, for the last week at least with organizing for the week on Sunday. This change is leaving more time in the mornings and evenings to move at a slower pace. I have been better about not letting stress get to me. Letting go of some things has me sleeping better and waking more rested. I have more time in the mornings to actually put on some makeup beyond just BB cream and mascara. I’m finally busting out some fall colored palettes, I hate to say some of them I bought last year and never used, oops. Now that my skin is prepped for the day, I’m off to enjoy a cup of pumpkin coffee and watch the news.
What changes are you making to your body care routine this fall?
