Last month I posted about the Luna beauty device by FOREO, which has quickly become my new favorite facial cleansing tool. Through ifabbo I have had an opportunity to test out another FOREO device . I traded my regular toothbrush for an electronic toothbrush a few years ago, so I am definitely on board with electronic devices for oral care. I take pride in my pearly whites and I’m serious about oral hygiene. The ISSA is a revolutionary electronic toothbrush that combines pulsation technology with silicone bristles and I have been curious about this device for some time now.
The FOREO ISSA is available in four colors: Lavendar/Mint/Colbolt Blue/Black
Included in packaging:
Warranty Registration Card
Detailed Instruction Manual
One thing is for sure, this isn’t your ordinary toothbrush. The design is sleek and stylish and the shape feels comfortable to hold. The silicone bristles are non-porous to offer a gentler, hygienic cleansing that is non-abrasive. The pulsation technology provides cleaning and gum massage.

The first day I used the FOREO ISSAI hated it. The feeling is so odd I don’t know how to describe other than brushing your teeth with rubber. This may sound weird but I like brushing my teeth and having my mouth feel clean and refreshed after. When using the FOREO ISSA I didn’t have that feeling and brushed again with my regular toothbrush. The first week I used the ISSA I was also trying out a new toothpaste; the Crest Pro Health HD which I don’t like by the way. Wondering if my dislike for theISSA had anything to do with the toothpaste, the next week I went back to my normal toothpaste.
The second week of testing the FOREO ISSA in addition to changing toothpaste I also started adjusting the ISSA speed, this seemed to help a bit. When using the ISSA at a higher speed my mouth felt overall cleanser but my teeth did not. By week three using the ISSA, I was more used to it and didn’t brush my teeth again after using it but I can’t say that I like it. I almost wish there was any easy way to personally measure how effective of a cleaning I get from the ISSA vs. my regular electronic toothbrush; just because I don’t feel like my teeth are clean doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t. The silicone bristles feel like they aren’t getting down between my teeth the same way standard bristles do, when I brush with the ISSA it feels like I am just gliding on the surface of my teeth.
I’m somewhat pleased with the ISSA as a tongue cleaner and for gum massage.
With a price of $199 for the full size and $119 for the mini the ISSA comes with an initial investment, replacement heads are reasonably priced at $24.90. There is no unsightly charging dock and the ISSA holds a charge for up to 365 uses, the brush head only requires replacement once a year. I am on the fence about this device since I can’t really measure how it works. At this point I’m leaning towards dislike and I am not sure I want to brush with it exclusively until my next dental checkup. I was so in love with the FOREO Luna that I had high hopes for the FOREOISSA but it has been a let down for me.
If you have used the FOREO ISSA what did you think?
