Nutrisystem My Way Plan #NSNation Week 2 Update

Hello beauties, today has been absolutely crazy. We got some unexpected snow here in the south that completely shut the city down. It took me over 5 hours to get home and I only work about 15 minutes away from where I live, so yeah. It was so bad that some of the children actually had to spend that night in school. Despite the long drive I was happy to make it home safely after all the accidents I saw.

So let’s get into my week 2 update, which was all about planning. I did good on the program this past week. Sunday is a kick back day for me, I prepare and plan for the week, do beauty treatments, catch up on blogging etc.  I found out this week that planning is key. I stayed 100% on track during the work week, being on a set schedule helps. The weekends are fairing to be a little bit more challenging and harder to plan in advance. I tried to make good choices over the weekend since I didn’t eat Nutrisystem  meals. 

Because I am planning out the weekly meals in advance I am discovering new combinations and coming up with new recipes to keep things interesting. I have yet to feel deprived on the program. I am not going to call it a diet because it doesn’t feel like one. Can you believe that I was actually not eating enough food, never thought I would say that while on a “diet”. I get a dessert each day and I wasn’t eating them. Even without the Nutrisystem meals I still stick with some of the program basics on “off” or weekend days. A proper ratio of power fuel foods, protein, smart carbs, vegetables, watching the beverage calories and consuming more water. Starting next week I will show more of the food and some recipes. 

I switched things up a bit this week, sweet potatoes were my smart carb of choice. I bake them and add a sprinkle of cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of agave nectar, so delicious.

My snack of choice was almonds. I picked up these seasoned Almond packets at Target, great for on the go.  They came in handy while I was stuck on the road for hours. At 100 calories a pack they fit right into my snack portion. To spruce up my water a bit I went back to drinking fruit infused water and toyed around with some new combinations. My two favorites have been strawberry/rosemary and lemon/cucumber/mint, so refreshing.

I mentioned last week that I look forward to my afternoon craving crusher shake. I am off that particular shake now that the fast five week is over and now on a regular protein shake. I was using unsweetened vanilla almond milk to give it some extra flavor. This new coconut almond milk is a total game changer, absolutely delicious and perfect for my afternoon treat. I have also been using this in oatmeal and cereal.

I’m not hungry and my energy is up, no more 3 p.m. crash. Weight loss is steady I am down an additional 2 pounds this week for a total to date loss of 9 lbs.   I am very happy with that!
