So dolls I have a confession, I am a foundation hoarder. Foundation is one of those makeup items I can’t seem to stop buying. Full coverage, medium coverage, tinted moisturizer, there are so many varieties and ahhhhh I buy them all. As someone with oily skin a lot of foundations I try make claims to last all day and control oil and unfortunately many do not live up to those claims, or I definitely have to use a primer to give them staying power and oil control.

tarte has recently become a favorite brand of mine, so far everything I try I love. I had been eyeing this Amazonian Clay Foundation for a long time and finally a few months ago there was a deal on QVC that I could not pass up for the foundation and the bamboo brush. Quicker than you can reach for you handbag I snagged that deal and it has been one of the best purchases as I am sooooo in love with this foundation and the brush is one of the best ever.

One of the many things I like about this foundation is not what is in it, but more what isn’t, the tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation is free of the following;

– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Synthetic Fragrances
– Petrochemicals
– Phthalates
– GMOs
– Triclosan

For me this means it will not clog my pores or irritate my sensitive skin.

The texture of this foundation is different from any I have tried before, I usually stick with true liquids or creams. I would describe this amazonian clay as a mousse. Excellent coverage that is easily blendable and buildable dries to a semi-matte almost airbrushed finish.

Don’t ask me how they do it but this miracle foundation adjust to your skin tone, See the picture below for how it blended to an invisible finish.  I love how this foundation looks and feels on my skin, it is amazingly lightweight, I know it is clay but it feels like a whipped mousse.  Sometimes foundations will oxidize and get darker over the course of the day, I did not have that issue with this one at all. I use shade deep.

So I’m sold on how it looks and feels, but how does it wear? This would be the true test, well I am happy to say tarte came through with this one and it lives up to all of its claims. I have worn this foundation all day to work and into the evening with no touch ups or powder needed. it successfully kept the oil at bay.

The tarte is available in eight shades ranging from fair to dark on the tarte site, Sephora and at Ulta but for some reason the color options are limited to five on QVC . The tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation retails for $38.00 and the Bamboo Brush retails for $32.00.
