Tatcha Skin Care Review

Product Reviews/ Skin Care

If there is one thing I never deviate from it is a skin care routine. Like most of you I have a busy life but taking care of my skin is very important to me and going through my steps can almost feel like a ritual. I have always admired the Japanese culture of skin care, they are less harsh on the skin. So when I was given the opportunity to try the luxury line Tatcha I was beyond excited.

Tatcha was founded by life long beauty seeker Victoria Tsai. Victoria’s  passion for skincare began at an early age when her mother shared  Asian herbal skincare treatments, which they sold in her family’s beauty boutique. Victoria has since become a sought-after expert in the skin care field, developing products and brand strategies for the world’s largest beauty companies.

Victoria began traveling to Asia searching searching for a new approach to beauty, and a chance encounter with a modern-day Geisha changed her course.  Japanese Geisha’s are known for their flawless porcelain skin. It is said that Geisha beauty secrets have been passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth. In Victoria’s travels she came across a 200-year old beauty manuscript of sorts. In its pages she rediscovered the Geisha’s daily regimen.  Victoria created Tatcha as a way to share these timeless secrets with the modern world.

Before I get into what I tried from the line can we talk about the packaging, gorgeous.  I have to admit for me there was something even more luxurious about the line seeing the beautiful bottles and jars sitting on my counter. The moisturizing cream even had a tiny gold spoon tied to the top with a soft purple ribbon.

Tatcha The Camellia Cleansing Oil
The Camellia Cleansing Oil is hands down the best cleansing oil I have ever used. I am a big fan of using oils to remove makeup and cleanse the skin. This oil was a lot lighter than others I have tried it felt like silk on my skin, amazing.  I was happy to know that it does not contain mineral oil. This cleansing oil leaves no residue on the skin and will have your face feeling clean, smooth and hydrated.
Tatcha The Camellia Cleansing Oil
You apply the Camellia Cleansing Oil on dry skin and massage in circular motions, the oil will then emulsify  in to a milk as it dissolves makeup and cleanses the skin. Rinse with warm water.
Tatcha Enzyme Rice Powder
Next step is the Enzyme Rice Powder. This step has made a significant difference in my skin. I first started using rice powders about 10 years ago after an Estheticians recommend one during a facial I had. This a non-abrasive exfoliater that comes in three varieties; Deep, Classic and Gentle. The Deep worked wonders for the congested area around my nose. I used the classic on the other areas of my face.
Tatcha Enzyme Rice Powder
You mix the powder with a little water in your hand and massage over your face.
Tatcha The Deep Brightening Serum

The Deep Brightening Serum hydrates the skin and adds luminosity. Absorbs instantly and was not greasy at all. If you have very oily skin you can use this is place of moisturizer.

Tatcha Moisture Rich Silk Cream

Moisture Rich Silk Cream is exactly that,  this luxurious moisturizer was like liquid silk on my skin. The most amazing moisturizer I have ever used. It appears in the jar like a thick gel cream but once you scoop a little out an apply you see that it is a light yet intense moisturizer that absorbed great and left my skin feeling amazingly soft with a nice glow.  A little went a long way with me combined with the Deep Brightening Serum I only needed the amount shown on my hand in the picture above to hydrate my entire face.

tactcha oil blotting papers

The Petal Fresh Beauty Papers are an all natural powder, fragrance and pulp free beauty blotting papers remove excess oil without disturbing makeup.  The sheet is nice and large so you only need one for the whole face. These are a bit thicker then the typical blotting paper and therefore absorb oil much better. Do you notice the gold speck in the corner, nope thats not a flaw in the picture its the gold leaf flecks in the papers, fancy right.

The Tatcha skin care was more than just a skincare routine, the luxurious rich feel of the products made me feel like I was treating my skin to a ritual every morning and evening.

The attention to detail and customer service from Tatcha is amazing, they really know how to make a girl feel special. You will not be disappointed in this set.   Tatcha also has a wonderful sample set that is a great introductory to the line, your skin will thank you.

Tatcha skin care is available at and is also sold at Barney’s
