I was provided with a sample of the Alpha Light Skin Lightening Set from the Natural Skin Shop.
The Natural Skin Shop is a great online store that provides specialized skin care treatments and has a licensed Esthetician available for you to chat with prior to making a purchase.
I suffer from the occasional breakout and if that is not enough to deal with at this age no matter what I do when the breakout subsides I am left with dark spots. I have to admit prior to the last year I wasn’t always good about wearing sunscreen on my face either which only made the problem worse.
Some of the features on the Alpha Light Skin Lightening Set is that it does not contain silicones, parabens, fragrance or colorants all things known to irritate my sensitive skin, so right off the bat I was pleased with that.
The set I received was the Alpha Light Essentials which is a two step system that was very easy to use.
Step 1: Using a cotton pad apply the skin Bright Exfoliate to cleansed skin and gently buff in a circular motion for 1-3 minutes and then rinse face. (It is recommended to only apply this once a day, I choose to do it at night)
Step 2: Apply a few drop of the skin Bright Serum to the skin and allow it to absorb. Follow with moisturizer or sunscreen. (This step should be done twice a day). I found the Bright Serum to be quite a bit drying so a good moisturizer was required. I use one by Giovanni.
I didn’t notice results right away but after consistent use for about 10 days I did notice my dark spots starting to fade and my overall skin tone became more even. I also had a dark patch on my neck that has completely disappeared.
The set only came with about eight cotton pads which wasn’t enough , so make sure you have some on hand. For me I preferred to use the thinner gauze type cotton rounds.
I had no adverse reactions to the set other than my skin feeling dry the first few days. It did not burn or sting upon application and I am very pleased with the results.

Keep an eye on Groupon they often have a deal from the Natural Skin Shop. I also highly recommend chatting with the skin specialist prior to making a purchase to find the best treatment for your skin.
