Homemade Beauty Products with Tropical Traditions

Coconut Oil/ Giveaways/ Product Reviews/ Skin Care/ Tropical Traditions

Over the past two or so years I started to become more conscious of chemicals. Chemicals in the food I eat but also chemicals in the products I use on my skin and hair. So about six months ago I started experimenting in my kitchen making some homemade beauty products and testing them on friends and family. I made a batch of body lotion and to my surprise it got rave reviews. People even started requesting me to make them a batch. Coconut oil is a staple in my lotion recipe, it helps keep my skin from getting dry and gives it a nice glow.

For my hand and body lotion I used the coconut oil from Tropical Traditions There are a few reasons I am in love with their coconut oil;

  •  Certified organic (with my shift to a more natural less chemical lifestyle this is VERY important to me)
  • Light scent not overpowering
  • Unrefined and made from fresh coconuts
  • High in antioxidants
  • Focus on customer service and quality ingredients

One of my biggest issues with store bought lotions was that they did not last on my skin all day. After a few hours my skin was dry again. The Tropical Traditions Coconut oil is the best natural moisturizer, unlike petroleum based products, the coconut oil absorbs into the skin making it long lasting.  Check out some of the pictures of the lotion I made.

This is truly the best coconut oil I have used,  far superior in quality to what I have purchased before at the supermarket. Check out Tropical Traditions for more on this great company and the other products they carry, they also have a recipe section on the site so you can look at some other ways to use your coconut oil. There is a coconut brownie bite one I want to try this weekend, yum πŸ™‚
